Education is critical to our communities and our future workforce. Our enterprise gives students, like you, the chance to step outside of the classroom and take advantage of opportunities to enrich your curriculum with real-world experience through a variety of programs such as: Career Exploration, Co-ops, Internships, Parent/Child Day, and the Career Expo.
This annual event gives the children of our associates the opportunity to join a parent at work for the day. It’s a fun day of learning about the company, their interests, and exciting for them to see what Mom or Dad does all day!
Our Internship Programs provide hands-on, purposeful experience with significant responsibilities giving students great resume value and industry insight as they start their career. We know that long-term student success depends on more than training relative to a specific major or job function, so we also offer all Interns:
- Additional training on topics that range from business communication to emotional intelligence to help support the transition from college to career
- Service Opportunities to give back
- Social events to help students meet and have fun with their colleagues
- Generous pay and benefits
Career Exploration Program
Selected students are hired for a great paying Summer job where they work in a primary department (Production, Bakery, or the Contact Center) 4 days/week. One day per week students are paid to explore various departments across the company such as Human Resources, Community Relations, Benefits, Marketing, Creative Marketing Services, Accounting, Purchasing, Internet/E-Commerce, and Inventory Management to gain a better understanding of that department and the jobs associated with that field.
This program is open to both high school and college students who are at least 16 years of age.
Upon completion of the program students receive a $500.00 scholarship!
Co-op students work an average of 10 hours/week during the school year in a variety of departments. This work/study program gives students the opportunity to earn money while learning more about the business world. In addition, all Co-op students who complete the program are awarded a scholarship.
Once a year, high school Seniors from more than a dozen schools are invited to spend a day at Colony Brands. The Career Expo exposes them to an array of career paths available right here in Southwest Wisconsin and gives them access to a variety of professionals. All attendees earn a $350 scholarship!
We award over $250,000 annually through these programs!
Our student programs are just one example of the way we empower people to enrich lives.
